Who are you?

My name is Kyle White, and I’m 20 years old. You may know me via my online alias ‘Spudgun’.

Where and what have you studied during your academic life?

I’ve always been into anything computer/technology related ever since I was young. I excelled in subjects such as ICT/Word Processing in Newbridge Comprehensive school, acheiving an A* in my ICT GCSE and straight distinctions in all of my word/text processing exams. After comprehensive, I took off to Crosskeys College, where I studied the ‘BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners’. After a thoroughly enjoyable 2 years I managed to achieve the highest possible outcome; a triple distinction (360 points). This would have to be my proudest achievement to date. Currently, I reside within Newport University, where I’m studying BSc (Hons) Forensic Computing. As it’s currently in progress, I shall update this with more information as it becomes available!

What is the purpose of your blog?

I feel the main purpose of the blog is so that I can share my content with the world as a whole. Also, I’ve always wanted to host my own website/blog professionally, opposed to hosting on Geocities (I had to start somewhere, right?) or Blogger etc.

What will you be talking about then?

Anything and everything. If you don’t know what to expect; then I guess you’ll have to keep checking back..

What do you do outside of your ‘academic’ life?

Mainly, nothing. Ha, well as life currently stands anyway. If I’m not at University I’ll be dorking around with my computers at home. I also play a fair amount of video games too. If you wish to play against me via Nintendo WFC/Xbox Live/PC, please hit me up via e-mail or in the comments! I’m also looking for part-time work during the next 2 years; to help gain an bit of income towards funding the website and my “projects”. I’ll be embedding a PayPal donation service in the near future for those of you who wish to support me (yes, Tippins).

What video equipment do you have?

Unfortunately, I have an extremely dated Samsung DV Cam, which is long overdue for being replaced. My income along with your donations can help towards the purchase of greater things!

Where did you get the ‘quote’ from which you’ve used as a sub-title?

From the music game ‘Rez’. The game was available on the Dreamcast, PS2 and currently Xbox Live. To me, it revolutionized the ‘music’ game genre. The game was way ahead of it’s time, and with it’s latest upgrade (going HD, 5.1 remastered audio) things have only gotten better. The fifth area was my favourite and the lyric ‘Fear is the mind killer’ is sampled throughout it. I’ve also found this phrase to have meaning in life.
